The Spektrum DX6, one of the most popular entry level computer radios on the market, just got better! Now when you purchase the system, it will include an AR6600T full-range telemetry receiver.
The DX6 has been designed from the ground up to deliver way more than you would
ever expect from a 6-channel transmitter in its price range. Instead of having to
content yourself with a handful of settings for a couple of model types, the
remarkably affordable DX6 gives you an abundance of programming features for airplanes,
helicopters and sailplanes. You also get other extras like voice alerts, a wireless
trainer link and enough internal memory for up to 250 models.
With voice alerts, the DX6 will allow you to keep tabs on important functions without
ever taking your eyes off what you’re flying. They can be programmed to call out what
flight mode you’ve chosen or report telemetry information on demand. If an alarm goes
off, you won’t have to look at the transmitter display to see what’s happening.

In addition to its extensive airplane and heli programming, the DX6 includes an impressive
list of programming features for sailplanes as well. Five available flight modes, 4 wing types,
3 tail types, a flap-to-elevator curve mix – it has all this and more. The intuitive
SimpleScroll™ programming interface makes all of these functions incredibly easy to access and use.
The wireless trainer link gives instructors the option to wirelessly "buddy box" with
another DSM2®/DSMX® transmitter. Once bound to another transmitter, ModelMatch™
technology will allow the DX6 to re-link without having to go through the bind process again.
The enormous capacity of the DX6's on-board memory means you will rarely, if ever, need to juggle
models between transmitter memory and your SD card. The model memory menu is easier to navigate too.
Only memory slots with model settings saved to them will appear. You won't have to scroll through
empty slots or move models around if one is deleted.
The DX6 is equipped with a built-in telemetry feature that gives you real-time information on things
like your model's battery voltage, signal quality, engine or motor temperature, airspeed, altitude and more.*
Using the voice alert system, you can program the DX6 to tell you when specific telemetry values reach or exceed
limits you define. You can also have it call out a sequence of telemetry values on demand with the flip of a switch.
If you want to review telemetry after a flight, the DX6 can be set up to record the data to its SD card.
The AR6600T receiver is a feature-packed, 6-channel receiver with integrated full-range telemetry. It comes with built-in connection ports for RPM, Flight Pack Voltage and Temperature sensors as well as an X-Bus port for additional telemetry options. No sensor is required to receive Flight Log or receiver pack voltage telemetry. The AR6600T also features a convenient Bind Button, making binding easier than ever before.

DSM or Digital Spectrum Modulation is Spektrum's proprietary method of implementing 2.4GHz spread spectrum technology for the R/C industry. DSM divides the 2.4GHz band into 80 individual channels (frequencies) and incorporates direct sequence spread spectrum with an embedded GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) code. DSM has been painstakingly optimized by our engineers for RC surface and aircraft use, offering the most robust RF link in the industry.

DSMX is a natural evolution of DSM2™ technology that is the result of several years of development. It builds on what has come before and takes DSM to the next level of robustness, reliability and efficiency without leaving current DSM2 users behind.
What DSMX™ adds to the tried and true wideband technology of DSM2™ is the extra interference protection and faster reconnection times of frequency agility. But DSMX isn't just another frequency hopping system. It’s wideband agile.
DSMX frequency shifts are coordinated using the most advanced FHSS algorithm ever seen in an RC application. Unlike other FHSS transmitters that all hop in the same fixed patterns, every DSMX transmitter has its own unique frequency shift pattern calculated using its GUID (Globally Unique Identifier). And each pattern uses just 23 channels in the 2.4GHz spectrum.
By adding the agility of unique frequency shifts to the superior interference resistance of a wideband signal, and limiting those shifts to a smaller portion of the 2.4 band, DSMX transmitters provide on-channel interference protection that is simply second to none. The result is quicker reconnection times and superb response in the noisiest 2.4GHz environment.
The foundation DSMX is built on is the same foundation as DSM2™ - the superior on-channel interference resistance and coding gain of wideband DSSS. Compared to the wideband signal of a DSM2 or DSMX™ system, the narrow-band signal of other 2.4 transmitters is more likely to suffer crucial data loss in the event of on-channel interference. Think of wideband 2.4 as a river and narrow-band 2.4 as a stream. It takes much more interference to stop a river than it does to stop a stream.
The big reason wideband is so robust is coding gain. Essentially what this means is that the unique coding in a DSM2 or DSMX wideband signal allows it to be heard well above the noise of surrounding 2.4GHz signals without requiring any more power. In fact, a Spektrum wideband signal can achieve as much as 3X the range of its narrow-band competition using the same amount of power.
Yes. DSM2 transmitters are forward compatible with DSMX receivers and DSMX transmitters are backward compatible with DSM2 receivers. And because DSM2 and DSMX share the same wideband DSSS foundation, all Spektrum users will enjoy superior range, speed and precision whether they're using DSM2 equipment, DSMX equipment or a combination of both.
Yes, but DSM2 users who rarely, if ever, fly in big events or other "noisy" 2.4GHz environments may find the DSM2 equipment they have now is all they will ever need. The difference DSMX makes is only apparent when hundreds of 2.4GHz systems are in use at once. With the SDI, memory for thousands of models could be stored on the SD card or transferred to a PC hard drive for backup. You can download them onto your SD card and upload them to the transmitter yourself.

The Spektrum™ X-Plus™ 8 module lets you add 8 fully proportional channels to specially equipped Spektrum transmitters and receivers with 10 or more proportional channels. Just plug it into the X-Plus port of a compatible receiver. It is ideal for scale modelers who like to push realism to the extreme with working accessories and lights in addition to the regular control functions. The DX10t and DX18 offer X-Plus.
Spektrum park flyer receivers are designed for small models up to 2 pounds. Spektrum full range receivers are designed to handle any normal RC conditions. You should have no problem maintaining control as long as you maintain direct line-of-sight with your model. If you try to fly behind a group of trees or otherwise obstruct your direct line-of-sight, you could be susceptible to losing your control link.
