servo in eflite F-16
Review by SteveB on 16 Jul 2020review stating servo in eflite F-16
Agree with Pita; this is a hybrid. Don’t think that’s all bad as it saves weight and the final gears don’t have as much force applied. I also like the emax servos but have had one of them fail too. Failure has been electronic, not gears, in both cases.

These are not all metal servos
Review by Pita on 24 Nov 2019review stating These are not all metal servos
These are advertised as metal gear servos, first off they do not make a 9 gram servo that is all metal gear, they would weigh 12 or 13 grams, second I took one of these apart that failed on my Viper Jet, the gear coming off of the motor is plastic, and top gear is plastic, but Spektrum is not the only company that advertises their 9 gram servos as metal gear, FMS also does, the easy way to tell is like I said if they aren’t listed as at least a 12 gram servo, then they are what they call a hybrid servo, and they have at least two of the gears that are plastic, thank God the one that went bad on my Viper was just a flap servo, but after taking it apart I replaced them all with EMax 12gram all metal servos, cheaper servo and all metal gears, and have had no failures after 63 flights!!
