New club record. 159MPH..

Got my V1200 last week. Flew seven times this weekend. Used Spectrum 6s 30c 5000mah for the first four flights. I used and onboard GPS speedometer to track my speed. With the 30c 6cells I reached a speed of 153 MPH.. with a shallow dive. In fact none of my flights used a straight down dive to achieve the speeds I'm talking about. Then I put in a Spectrum 6s 100c 5000MAH battery and reached a speed of 159MPH.!! dead calm conditions. No tail wind just a high banking full power shallow dive to ground level.. 159 MPH people!!! Lol.. needless to say I was thrilled.. only problem so far has been the retracts have been a little glitchy... Awesome plane.. makes my keys seem slow. Lol..

V1200 rocks!

I received my v1200 and assembled it in approximately 40 minutes! I'm only flying it with 6s 3300-5000. I think 4s will leave the plane itself feeling kinda sad. As advertised, it's a major upgrade from the v900 which i also had. It satisfies my need for an adrenaline rush as often as i need. It has a wide flight envelope and can fly relatively slow as well. She maintains good control either upright or inverted. I'll post a video of us having fun soon.

She's a quickie!!

I saw the first post with a 159mph bench mark. I got mine up to 158 in a shallow down line, but duh, ain't enough!! :) On a flat pass she's hitting 143mph, which is cooking for a FOAMIE aircraft.
The fuse is slick and clean. I did do a review on this aircraft after my first flight a few days ago, so we'll call this an update. I'm here cuz I'm ordering parts, I lost her tonight to a radio glitch, same place my favorite P51 augured in this summer. We got some weird juju at our field. But I digress............
I did a couple hot passes w a reliable GPS on board and those are the results. Altitude wise, it'll climb outa site in seconds. The math...140mph is 205 ft/s. SMOKING
Now for some usable comments.......
REGARDLESS of how well you land this aircraft, you WILLmanage to bend the gear wires. WHICH are quite easily bent back with some persuasion by holding on to the gear servos, and it won't take much. They are FLIMSY legs indeed. Take it to the bank!!! Gear down grass landings are a NO-NO as well, they WILL bend back. I tried a gear up grass landing, which is very possible, knowing I could snag and break a prop, which I did. No other damage at all.
An APC 10x10 prop for flying and some quick hot passes will work, but I don't recommend and looooong bursts. A WATT check w the 10x10 and on the stock 100AMP ESC and she pulled 112.8 peak amps at 2452 Watts, (3.2hp??)
And think about this....at full chicken in a good climb, she'll be well over the 400' AMA/FAA altitude limit in a little over 2 SECONDS!!!! I know!! MY GPS posted a lid of 551' which I didn't believe, but she WAS pretty hard to see.
For a noticeable increase in speed, this will work with good throttle management. She's a keeper boys n girls!!!

Awesome speed

I got this V1200 for Christmas and it is the fastest plane I have right now. Everyone at the club lands and watches it fly. Unlimited vertical but be careful it does get out of sight very fast. Keep it close and never take your eyes off of it. Landings are fast even with full flaps. It does require nerves a steady hand and excellent eye sight, Definitely will get your adrenalin going every flight.

V-1200

I flown Competition Q40 pylon racer's This plane is as close to the speed of a Q500 at 160 t0 170 Mph With the Stock 10X8 APC prop the local police got it on their Radar gun coming out of a 45 degree hidh speed dive at 157 mph and a pylon knife edge pattern at 143 mph straight and level . I did mix in 10% down Elevator on low 15% at mid and 25% at high rate to keep it from ballooning when the flaps are deployed I have cut the rates as followed High 10mm, mid 8mm and low 6mm on the ailerons. and on the Elevator High rate 8mm, mid 6mm and low at 4mm High rates for take offs and landings mid for aerobatics and low rates for the pylon pattern or any time I am flying at full throttle. I am still playing with the Expo's, but for now high rate expo at 105 mid at 75 and low at 4% The rudder I leave at 10mm on all dual rates and the rudder Expo at 5% Out of 5 Electric racer's I have this one beats them all. I am adding a little red to the Livery, The white and blue at times is hard to see for me any way. The main gear is a little week but is fine as long as the pilot is very proficient at making almost perfect landings ever time it will not take much of a bounce or hopping it side ways after landing. So far after more than 2 dozen flights my gear is just fine. Never hammer the throttle during the take off I slowly advance throttle to just above 1/4 throttle then advance to full gradually to keep it from torque rolling to the left E-flight and Horizon hit this one out of the park IMHO
