Horizon Hobby and their e-flite products are of great quality and value!

I started flying this past January 2019 with the Apprentice. Awesome/perfect trainer!!!! I now have a P-39, P-51, and Extra 300 (all e-flite), two more transmitters, and smart batteries. I do have issues getting SAFE to work on anything but the Apprentice. I have followed the 20- something videos produced by Horizon Hobby to no avail. I don't think the included receivers are programmable as the are designated AR636A instead of AR636. The rudder and stabilizer for the Apprentice are currently on backorder (July 2019) and when they come back in stock I will order my 4th set. They ALL delaminated. I'm hoping the backorder status is due to a redesign or change in the adhesive used. And, yes, definitely glue in the rudder, even though it feels tight it will come off in flight. I still HIGHLY recommend Horizon Hobby and e-flite!!!

This is a nice tail set for the Elite Apprentice S and I highly recommend you keep a spare. I highly recommend that current owners of the Apprentice S 15e, reinforce the elevator hinge and make the attachments extra secure--including the tail fin and rudder. I have two Apprentice S models and fly them quite a bit. I noticed over time that the elevator hinge can separate or crack, leading to catastrophic loss of control and crash. This happened several times until I discovered the elevator hinge was the weak link. For me, the fix was to place a piece of very sticky, reinforced tape over top of the hinge surface--and the failures stopped. The inner material of tail set pieces are a crumbly type of foam, so a CA hinge will probably not work. These minor reinforcements and modifications can save your plane. I also added some flexible-removable adhesive in the mounting channel holding on the rudder along with some tape at the bottom. The rudder is prone to coming off without this modification.
