Here is an ingenious new way for 1/5, 1/8 and 1/10 racers to virtually eliminate chassis "tweak" by precisely matching the length and damping rate of shocks. To set length, racers attach the shocks to the matching tool and use the easy to read gauge to adjust length. To check lengths are equal all they have to do is make sure the gauge at the bottom of the tool is centered. The matching gauge swinging in the direction of the "weaker" shock during compression will indicate any difference in dampening rate.
The Shock Matching Tool is machined from anodized aluminum with a laser-etched measuring scale on the face. The pivoting gauge on the bottom of the tool is ball bearing supported for maximum precision.

very useful tool
Review by Wardal on 2 May 2011review stating very useful tool
I ordered the shock matching tool because I noticed 1 corner of my slash was lower than the others, and I suspected a shock problem but was unable to fix it with spacers. It arrived within a week , which is fast for international orders to Canada. I immediately checked out the shocks using the Losi tool, located the faulty shock and repaired it so both work identically now. The shock tool did have a slight bend in the dial indicator but it is only plastic so I used a slight pressure between two fingers to bend it back into shape so it reads perfect zero now. Overall I'm very happy with the Losi shock tool, it has probably paid for itself on my very first use and saved me at least $30 worth of frustration. Horizon Hobby did an excellent job of processing my order one day and shipping it the next so that I received it by weeks end. I would reccommend them both.

Until I actually did it, I did not realize how much this helps.... Worth the money if you like to tweak the best performance from your suspension...
