I just purchased the mini apprentice and couldn’t be happier.i have never had a rc plane and I was able to fly and land with no problem. I got about 10 min out of the battery and just wanted to keep flying. Definitely will recommend it.

Review by Mejda1 on 9 Aug 2016review stating Great little Airplane
I flew my mini Apprentice S today for the first time. I also fly the big Apprentice. Once I powered it up, I had to do some minor adjustments on the rudder and elevator. Then it took off in 10 mph winds and flew just a little slower than its big brother. The only problem I encountered was the 1300 mah battery is so small in the battery compartment, that the velcro strap will not hold it in place. So when I got home, I added velcro to the inside of the battery compartment and to all my batteries. Problem solved. Overall, this is one sweet little airplane and one great flier. I also noticed that when you work the ailerons, the rudder goes with it to make a great co-ordinated turn. My big Apprentice does not have this feature. I highly recommend this airplane to anyone, mostly because it costs less than it's big brother and makes a great entry airplane for someone new to the hobby.

Review by Mach2man on 14 Aug 2018review stating Mini Apprentice is a Max RC Value
Occasionally a product comes along that immediately stands out in a crowded marketplace. Such describes the Mini Apprentice from its out-of-the box easy assembly to the Horizon Hobby tech support folks should their expertise be needed. The AS3X SAFE® system helps both the rookie aviator as-well-as the seasoned veteran maintain the Mini Apprentice in top airworthiness condition. Well designed, rugged construction, dependable performance and reasonable cost all make this RC one of the most, if not the best, values in the hobby aircraft fleet. For the first time flyer, here's a little advice from an old aviator who has flown everything from Piper Cubs to high-performance jets: You get two sacks when you start. One is full of luck, the other is empty and is for experience. Try to fill the latter before you run out of the former. The fun will take of itself.

Great first airplane and still fun later
Review by Desert P. on 22 Apr 2017review stating Great first airplane and still fun later
I've taught quite a few beginners to fly and currently I recommend this as the best first plane to learn on. I can use a buddy box with them and soon they can fly on their own with this set on beginner. I recommend they keep a finger near the panic button when they advance to the other modes. I can demonstrate what it can do in experienced mode and that seems to make them happy as a goal they will soon obtain. No one has had any complaints. It's a fun airplane to fly if you are getting back into flying and its fun for an experienced pilot too.
