With the beginner pilot in mind, FMS’ Kingfisher is the ultimate user-friendly plane. Assembly is easy with convenient bolt-on wings and stabilizer, plus a quick-release battery cover and supporting struts. Everything self-aligns and fits only one way so chance of assembly errors is as low as possible. By far the coolest part about the Kingfisher is its versatility. With three sets of landing gear included, the Kingfisher can handle any field type at just about any location. The oversize wheel set is provided for grass fields and gravel roads. The float set includes an simple setup so that flying from water is easy, even if you’ve never done it before. Finally, the skis provided make it possible to even fly in frigid conditions from snow. Cool upgrades are also available for the Kingfisher such as an electric towing hook for banners and gliders. Plus, the model is features an FPV equipment bay making it FPV ready. Complete System Upgrade - Reflex V2 is Compatible with Most FMS Aircraft
The Reflex V2 is a user-upgradeable flight controller. Reflex V2 can be reprogrammed easily with different model files via a simple software - allowing pilots to use the same flight control unit as they progress to different aircraft. Flying is simple when you have your very own “co-pilot” — the Reflex V2!
Reflex Functions
Three flight modes are available: Stabilized, Optimized or Off. This is controlled with a two or three position switch on the transmitter. When assigned to a two position switch, the Reflex system changes between stabilized and optimized modes.
Stabilized mode: Designed for beginners, Reflex will rapidly level the aircraft from any attitude when this mode is activated. Stabilized mode combines accelerometer and gyro data to determine how to level the aircraft when the control sticks are released - giving pilots absolute peace of mind. Note: The aircraft will maintain level flight with 50-60% throttle, and the aircraft will climb under full throttle.
Optimized mode: Utilizing advanced solid-state gyros, the Reflex system maintains aircraft attitude by counteracting inflight upsets - for gusts to crosswinds. With Reflex, even small aircraft will fly with the confidence of something much larger!
Off: Turns off all gyro functionality, the aircraft is flown completely manually when the gyro is off.

Yes you can, and there are different ways you can achieve that. The Kingfisher is a PNP model, which means that it requires a receiver. It is provided with the Reflex stability system, which will work with a non-stabilized Spektrum receiver such as the AR620, or AR6610T.
Or you could bypass/remove the Reflex unit, and use a Spektrum receiver with integrated AS3X/SAFE, such as the AR631.
The Reflex unit is installed in the airplane.
