Acquiring its name from the two river valleys that it passes thru, the San Luis & Rio Grande Railroad (SLRG) runs west from a connection with the Union Pacific Railroad at Walsenburg, CO. At Alamosa, the railroad splits with one branch extending south to Antonito the other northwest to South Fork. These units are former CEFX units which retained the original CEFX numbers.
