Messerschmitt prop, not.
Review by Firehawk54 on 15 Oct 2010review stating Messerschmitt prop, not.
So after convincing my brother we should go with a 2 blade prop for his Messerschmitt we order this one since horizon recommended it with the 2 blade spinner. We fly in a tall grassy field and I've always felt 3 blade props were trouble especially for belly landings. I assumed it was a direct fit for the stock set-up.
This Prop does not fit the BF109G. It has to be modified to fit the stock motor shaft/collar. Doing so means taking your friend the drill and running it through the center to ream it out a few sizes, good luck doing it straight and because of the prop design it doesn't lay flat. You have to drill on the corner of a block of wood, that worked. I don't remember the size bit i used but i found one that was exactly the correct size but its an ultra tight fit. Oh and don't forget to install the backing plate for the spinner first, then the spacers to center the prop back and front and the large nut to hold it all in place. So now I'm installing the set up on the plane and it wont tighten up, after taking it apart several times (which was very hard since the ultra tight fit) and many frustrations, the reason it wouldn't tighten to the motor shaft was you need to have a washer between the prop and the nut (which isn't included with the kit). I had no idea this would have been such a nightmare. Park Zone DOES make the correct 2 bladed prop for this plane the part number is in the owners manual. I don't understand why its not in the optional parts section with the 2 blade spinner. Do not buy this APC prop, its more trouble then its worth.
