1/5-Scale Float Set
Review by Tiredoftryinganicname on 30 Jun 2017review stating 1/5-Scale Float Set
Let's see where do I start???? First off I bought these floats fot the new Ultra Stick 30 and no where in the discription of the floats on the website (that I saw) does it tell you that a sperate strut kit is needed for the Ultra Stick 30. I did not figure this out until I spent hours putting the floats together and finding out that the mountings ot the plane do not match the float mounts. I went back and reread the artitcle in the AMA magazine again and saw that I now needed the strut kit for the Ultra Stick. So I had to order that. The instructions leave much to be desired. The pictures are terrible for trying to figure out exactly where what goes. The picture on the box cover actually was better than anything in the directions. So now I have to take apart everything I have already put together and start over with the proper strut kit. Aaarrrggg... The floats are really nice floats can't wait for the next float fly to try them. To bad the instructions are not as nice.

could be better for the money
Review by Spyder53 on 8 Jun 2017review stating could be better for the money
I bought these floats to use on the new ultra stick to take to Joe Nall. instructions were ok at best. better pictures would have helped. Description talked about bottom being fiberglass for durability, while they maybe they are actually covered with silver covering. Within a couple days of flying off the water the covering was peeling off the bottom. Thinking it needs something else to protect the bottom. Also in my opinion the struts need to be taller for this plane. Either the prop was hitting the water or the tail was dragging in the water when taxiing. last complaint is that on the third day of flying in noticed a crack in one of the struts where the tab goes in the strut tube. I did have a horizon rep look at it and was told it was just cosmetic.

Floats for sale
Review by Cub01 on 14 Apr 2018review stating Floats for sale
Where to start. As you can see by my rating I don't think much of these floats. I bought them for both the Carbon Cub and the Stick 30cc (including the mounting hardware). The manual is like most manuals these days a waste of good paper. The pictures are such poor quality & faded they can't even be made out with a magnifying glass. Unfortunately you will also not discover the instructions are wrong until you try mounting it on the model (and probably tear the covering trying to make it work) It is impossible to mount the cross braces the way the instructions tell you as if you take the mount point bolt out to connect the cross brace you will not get it back in without damaging the model. Last for this review but certainly not least, the cross braces are too short. The connector ends are at best being held on by 3 threads on both ends, a disaster waiting to happen. Too bad they will never get used because I live on a lake, already have four foamy float models that I fly there and after seeing the video was really looking forward to seeing the Carbon Cub and Stick 30cc flying on floats as well this summer but I'm not willing to risk two expensive models on these pieces of junk.
