Took a little time to work out the kinks but once it was all done it was all worth it ! Upgraded with a tunes exhaust and it really changed the cars performance completely !

I have been having a blast driving this. It's important to give the buggy a once over to ensure all the bolt, screws etc. are secure. I didn't find any problems and its been running great. Nicely made and a beast!

OK so first off I want to say that yes there are some parts that could be better but at this price point its a steal. Mine is all stock and I do not need any more power. I use 93 octane gas and it runs like a dream. Although some say you dont need to, I only drove it at about 50% for the first tank and opened her up on the second a couple of times but still took it easy. On the 3rd tank I could see a huge difference and now is spinning the tires at the drop of a hat. I have rolled it numerous times with not even a crack. The plastic they use is amazing. I also took it to Freddie at Freddies hobby shop yesterday and he said that it had a little more punch then the 5T. Probably because of the weight im guessing. I fully trust his opinion since he is an Icon within the industry for big gas RCs. The front breaks did need adjusting out of the box but its a very simple procedure. Its so much bigger then it looks online as well. I have had quite a few 1/10 scale RCs and one nitro but I must say that this is a whole new experience and I am in love. The only downside is they are very expensive to fix or upgrade but you are aware of that before you purchase. I will say that I am very pleased with the 2 stroke verses nitro. Its so much easier and a lot less work. Adjusting, tinkering, fine tuning, etc etc...... If you are thinking about getting one. DO IT !!! Not to mention Horizon has AWESOME customer service. I bought this car in November after reading reviews and doing my own research ( I am new to this hobby ) I knew right away there were some people who had issues with pins coming out of driveshaft or pinion gear coming out within a short time of purchasing, so I made sure to go through and tighten everything before & after engine break-in. I still ended up having an issue w the pinion gear coming out so I brought it to the local hobby shop I purchased it from, it had done some damage to the gears when it came loose so we called up Horizon customer service, they were very helpful and sent a replacement pinion and main gear, along with some bearings (even though I didn’t specify if they were damaged they included them jic, I call that AMAZING customer service.).
When putting the new gears on I used blue lock tite for bolts and haven’t had any issues since.
When the driveshaft pins came out I was unable to find the pin and grub screw, decided to run to the hobby shop w my car. They looked it over then called Horizon Customer service and again Horizon did an amazing job taking care of my issues, they sent an entire new driveshaft and I installed it using blue lock tite on grub(set) screws. Unfortunately the pin came out again but after I ran a tank and a half, I was able to find the pin and other pieces so I cleaned them up put blue lock tite on screw again. **TIP/HINT** This time after installing pin I went to the local auto parts store and bought some electrical shrink wrap that would fit around the putter driveshaft cup. Applied the shrink wrap, I decided to test it out and ran an entire tank of gas w no issues. I’ve had the same shrink wrap applied for two months (3 tanks of gas) and haven’t had any issues. I did decide to put a thin zip tie around the wrap jic the wrap decided to let loose, I don’t recommend putting a larger zip tie as it may affect performance of driveshaft. (Will include pictures)
There are some minor issues with this Dbxl but it’s nothing that can’t easily be fixed for a low price. Not too mention the EXCELLENT customer service Horizon Hobby has. This “buggy” is a blast to run, easy and fun to work on, and has endless upgrade capabilities. I recommend this for all levels in the hobby.

I would hope that they manufacturer would slow down a little bit more and tighten up the screws and bolts before shipping. Half a tank in and the pinion bolt came out and truck stopped. Had to take it apart and put the bolt back in. Another half a tank and the throttle servo stopped. Disappointed about paying over a grand for it and getting it next day and it taking 9 days to get a replacement servo. The only other complaint it the stupid jsp plug on the short life 1700 NIMH battery. Have a new 2000 mah 2s lipo with Dean's plugs coming. For the price it could be better but for the most part it's fun.
