E-flite Blade CX2 (EFLH1250) models shipped from Horizon Hobby after August 30th, 2007 include the following Important Product Update notice:
Inner Shaft With Aluminum Head/Hub (EFLH1240)
The aluminum upper rotor head and stabilizer flybar hub/holder installed on your model offers superior durability. In the unfortunate event that the inner shaft is bent in a crash, replacement shafts are available separately (EFLH1241).
Additional aluminum option parts are also available separately, including an Aluminum Bearing Holder with Bearing (EFLH1244), Aluminum Lower Rotor Head Set (EFLH1245) and Aluminum Swashplate (EFLH1246). These parts also offer improved precision and durability, along with a matching blue-anodized finish.
Your model is also equipped with over-current protection devices that are installed in-line with the positive wire lead of each main motor. These PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) resettable fuses offer protection for the main motor electronic speed controls (ESCs) in over-current conditions.
In the unfortunate event of a crash or rotor blade strike in which power to the main motors is not reduced entirely and immediately upon impact, the polymer material within the PTC resettable fuse will begin to heat and expand. This expansion will reduce current flow through the fuse, helping to limit and prevent potentially damaging over-current situations for the ESCs contained in the 3-in-1 Control Unit (EFLH1031). When any potentially damaging over-current situations are no longer present in the circuit, the fuse will reset itself, allowing the usual (typical flight) current loads to flow through the circuit again.
Although the PTC resettable fuses offer over-current protection never before available in micro-class coaxial helicopter models, it is still important to properly care for your Blade CX2 model while also learning the skills and good habits that will allow you to properly care for your future helicopter models:
In the unfortunate event of a crash or rotor blade strike, no matter how minor or major, you MUST lower both the throttle (left-hand) stick and throttle trim to their lowest possible positions as quickly as possible to prevent damage to the ESCs of the 3-in-1 unit AND the main motors.
Failure to lower both the throttle stick and throttle trim to their lowest possible positions in the event of a crash could result in damage to the main motor ESCs contained in the 3-in-1 unit or the main motors themselves, which may require replacement of the 3-in-1 unit and/or motors. Note: Crash damage is NOT covered under warranty.
3-in-1 Control Unit Mixer/Speed Control/Gyro System (EFLH1023)
The 3-in-1 Control Unit installed on your model is a lightweight combination of main motor mixer, main motor electronic speed controls and a rate-mode piezo gyro. This 3-in-1 Control Unit functions just like the 4-in-1 Control Unit (EFLH1024) previously included with Blade CX2 models, but it does not include a receiver.
After disconnecting both main motor plugs from the 3-in-1 Control Unit to perform the “Control Test” outlined on pages 16–19 in the instruction manual, it will be necessary to reconnect the plugs before continuing through the remaining steps outlined in the manual and before flight testing. The right-hand motor (when viewing the helicopter from behind) plug must be connected to the to the pins in the upper output slot on the 3-in-1, with the positive (red) wire lead oriented toward the top of the unit/helicopter. The left-hand motor plug must then be connected to the pins in the lower output slot, with the positive wire lead oriented toward the bottom of the 3-in-1 unit/helicopter.
All other functions (including arming and adjustments) of the 3-in-1 unit will be the same as those outlined for the 4-in-1 unit throughout the manual. However, the 3-in-1 unit also features unique software that allows the main motor mixer and rate-mode piezo gyro to be disabled. This, along with the separate Spektrum AR6100e receiver (SPMAR6100E), allows an optional heading lock-type gyro (sold separately) to be used for yaw control.

What this Warranty Covers Horizon Hobby, Inc., (Horizon) warrants to the original purchaser that the product purchased (the "Product") will be free from defects in materials and workmanship at the date of purchase.
What is Not Covered This warranty is not transferable and does not cover (i) cosmetic damage, (ii) damage due to acts of God, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, commercial use, or due to improper use, installation, operation or maintenance, (iii) modification of or to any part of the Product, (iv) attempted service by anyone other than a Horizon Hobby authorized service center, or (v) Products not purchased from an authorized Horizon dealer.
