Great for true beginners

This is a great little add-on for someone who has never flown any kind of 3- or 4-channel helicopter before. It helps smooth out learning to hover and general navigation. I already had a bit of experience flying IR helis before purchasing my MCX2 and mSR, but picked this up just in case. I found out very quickly that it was entirely unnecessary and actually made things quite a bit harder for me to transition, but other people who have flown my helis have found it extremely useful. It's very sturdy considering what its made of, and while I see several reviewers have said its quite fragile, my experience has been suprisingly pleasant. It's survived quite a few heavy bumps and one fairly serious crash without any breakage. Just make sure you don't try to fly more than 1-2 feet off the ground with this on the craft as it will really start causing stability issues at that height.

Works well with cheap/simple modification.
Review by Desmobob on 17 Feb 2011review stating Works well with cheap/simple modification.
Very lightweight training gear helps keep you upright while you're learning. The center joint is on the weak side, but a few drops of thick CA glue will stiffen it up easily. You don't have to worry about not being able to take it apart after that; it fits nicely in the Blade mSR's box right under the instruction manual.
The method of attachment to the mSR's landing skids using the tiny O-rings looked highly suspect to me initially, but proved to be a durable and flexible mounting method. I had some pretty hairy crashes in my kitchen and living room, and my training gear (and mSR's landing skids) are still intact.
Use it to help you learn, then keep it for those times you'll want others to try out your mSR.
